Sigmacare: Takes hygiene and infection control to new levels

  Clean as a whistle

Sigma Paint’s new Sigmacare range is environment-friendly, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal

Sigma Paints Middle East has launched a new range for the healthcare sector. The latest offering, Sigmacare, aims to take hygiene and infection control to new levels.

The range comprises environment-friendly paints for individual areas within healthcare facilities combined with a colour solution that the company says will play a big role in the healing process.

The Sigmacare concept includes tailored solutions for specific aspects of the healthcare industry and addresses specifically and directly the needs of healthcare facilities as well as the needs of the environment – whether it is a new-build construction project or the repair and maintenance of an existing healthcare facility.

Sigmacare is targeted at areas such as treatment rooms, intensive care units and recovery rooms, where paint systems can play a critical role in eliminating risks associated with cross contamination or the spread of harmful bacteria.

Other functional areas of healthcare are also included within the concept, such as restaurants, kitchens, bathrooms and laundry facilities, where there is a higher risk of mould growth due to steam and/or condensation.

“The health risks from the fungi and mould spores are well documented, which makes an anti-fungal paint system essential,” said a spokesman for the Dammam-based Sigma Paints.

The Sigmacare concept comprises a wide range of environment-friendly, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial paint systems. Included in the range is Sigmacryl Premium ABF, an anti-bacterial and fungicidal waterborne finish based on silver ion technology; Sigmacryl Flat and Silk AF, a waterborne finish paint that is resistant to moulds and algae with low volatile organic compound (VOC) composition; and Sigmacryl Ecoplus Matt and Satin, which is claimed to be the only zero VOC system in the Middle East. The latter enjoys excellent opacity, is odourless and has high scrub resistance.

In addition to addressing the functional aspects of health and hygiene, Sigmacare is integrated with the colour and lifestyle concept that specifically focuses on the beneficial psychological and positive influences colour can have on health recovery as well as the use of colour as both a directional aid and in the identification of various individual areas.

Antoine Lejuez, marketing manager Middle East, said: “Sigma Paints is well known for providing innovative solutions that cater to the exact market needs. Sigmacare is our latest offering that has been developed following years of detailed research and analysis to assess the needs of the market and provide the proper solution. It is our aim to continuously stick to our values – innovation, dedication and durable protection – when developing any new offering.”

Hossam Soliman, general sales manager for Saudi Arabia and other export countries, said: “Our main concern is customer satisfaction. Everything that we do revolves around providing solutions that best serve our customers.”

Sigma offers products that are specially developed to suit both the local environment and local tastes and has been creating lasting impressions in the Middle East in the decorative paints sector for the past three decades.
