Pollaro offers museum-quality reproductions of masterworks
Pollaro Custom Furniture produces museum-quality furniture, recreating the masterworks of the early 20th century. During this period, about 100 years ago, the fields of architecture and the applied arts enjoyed a special flowering.
These design ideas reached their creative peak at the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925. The fair gave birth to the term “Art Deco” derived by shortening the words Arts Décoratifs.
The dining table pictured here was designed by Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann, whose furniture master works were the highlight of the 1925 exposition.
Reproduced by Pollaro in museum quality detail, this table represents one of the finest designs of the Art Deco period. The table top consists of 96 pieces of genuine Macassar ebony veneer. These pieces are radially matched to provide an aesthetically appealing pattern. The edge of the table contains over 1,000 pieces of ivory arranged in a dentil design. The ebony grain pattern of the table top flows through the dentil, waterfalling to the table’s edge. The table base reflects the radial design of the table top and is accented by a polished nickel foot rest.
Overall, this table is 2,200 mm in diameter and is 760 mm high. However, it can be produced in any size.
Since its inception in 1988, Pollaro Custom Furniture has constructed furniture for important residences and select corporate offices.
