Two faucets and three showers get iF Product Design Award
Grohe walked off with six awards at the 2012 International Forum (iF) Design awards ceremony held in Munich, Germany, earlier this year.
The German manufacturer won five iF Product Design awards for two faucets and three showers, as well as an iF Communication Design award for its exhibit at last year’s ISH trade fair.
The awards were first announced at ISH 2011, the world’s leading trade fair for bathrooms, buildings, energy, air-conditioning technology and renewable energies, which was held in Frankfurt, Germany, last year.
In the run-up to the official handover at the iF design awards night, which was held at the BMW Welt centre in Munich on February 10, the award-winning products and concepts were also featured in the inaugural iF design exhibition hosted at Hamburg’s HafenCity.
“As we continue to maximise the potential of our products and our brand, we create new design universes and shape new trends,” Paul Flowers, senior vice-president of design at Grohe was quoted as saying at the time. “We are delighted to see our innovations and high standards in terms of quality and functionality recognised and rewarded. Winning an iF award is an honour and an inspiration at the same time.”
The award-winning showers were Grohe’s Power & Soul, Tempesta New, and Sena Freehander, while the faucets included the Eurodisc Cosmopolitan and Allure Brilliant lines of faucets and fittings.
Grohe’s Urban Village at ISH 2011 featured the leitmotiv ‘enjoy water’, a booth which celebrated wellbeing, value and water, underpinned by the four pillars of the brand - quality, technology, design and sustainability.
Visitors were introduced to about 350 new Grohe products for its spa, bathrooms, showers, kitchens and sanitary systems by way of five themed universes created through large-scale multimedia projections. |
