  Jeddah gears for key show

sbie is an important platform to access the vibrant Saudi market

Jeddah, the commercial and leisure hub of Saudi Arabia, is gearing up to host the 21st edition of Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (sbie). The show, to be held from April 22 to 25, 2012, at the Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events, will be an ideal platform for the exhibitors to access the vibrant and lucrative market of Saudi Arabia.

Organised by Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions, the event is a comprehensive showcase for the building and interiors industry. This year’s event also features construction machinery.

Exhibitors will showcase their latest products and services at the event spread over 8,000 sq m of space while the construction machinery event will be spread over the 20,000 sq m of the outdoor area adjacent to the exhibition centre.

According to the organisers, this year’s event has received unprecedented response from both international and Saudi-based companies like the Al-Fawaz for Ceramic Company, Sabic, Al-Jazeera Factory (paint), Schneider Electrical Power, Abdullah Bin Ibrahim Establishment, Hesham Al-Sewedy Trading and international groups with national pavilions, supported by their respective ministries and government bodies, from Turkey, China, Egypt, Indonesia, India, Spain, Netherlands, Italy and UAE.

Established as Saudi Arabia’s key exhibition, the annual event offers a platform for exhibitors to showcase their offerings to a high-profile audience of decision makers and professionals from across Saudi Arabia and the neighbouring Gulf states.

Along with the trade show, the event will also include a series of seminars with guest speakers providing a wealth of information on a variety of subjects, including the latest trends in construction technology and architecture.

The exhibition profile is divided into building and interiors. The building profile includes building materials and hardware, climate control, construction equipment and tools, electricity and lighting, environmental conservation, marble, granite and stone, technology, safety, security and fire prevention, water technology and waste management. On the interiors side, the profile includes hotels and leisure, office environment, outdoors and landscape design, schools and hospitals, shopping malls and restaurants and the home.

Last year’s event attracted 500 exhibitors and 25,000 high profile visitors of businessmen, traders, professionals, government officials and diplomats.
