Energy savings of 50 to 60 per cent over older models
Samsung Electronics has unveiled the latest series of hotel televisions which the Korean market leader believes will be one of the best investments for the GCC’s hotels and hospitality industry.
Samsung Electronics currently boasts a 25 per cent share of the hospitality TV market in the GCC, but predicts a big jump to 40 per cent this year, on account of the contracts signed with new-build hotels in the region. Samsung’s 450, 457 and 550 Series LCD TVs save between 50 per cent and 60 per cent on electricity consumption compared to older models, according to Mohammad Balahmar, Samsung B2B manager in Saudi Arabia. “Hotels and their guests are demanding products that are eco-friendly product and save them money,” he said.

“Hotels are also demanding the latest technology and better design, which we can deliver as global leaders in the TV market.”
In 2010, Samsung will launch a cutting-edge series of TVs for the hospitality industry, details of which will be shortly revealed. “Sizes available range from 19-inch to 46-inch screen with features including bathroom speaker output, secure remote, side HDMI port, USB cloning and Jack Pack compatibility for easy connectivity to remote devices,” said Balahmar.
Designed with an elegant black finish, the 450 and 457 Series are HD ready. The 457 Series also has a built-in PMOLED clock display. The 550 Series is a full HD interactive LCD TV with a premium charcoal grey finish.
Balahmar said that where possible, Samsung has tried to keep prices stable compared to last year considering current economic conditions and competition in the market place. |
