Sleep products manufacturer aims to be a role model for SMEs
INTERCOIL International, the Dubai-based sleep products multinational, has been conferred the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for 2012. The company has been honoured with the coveted label for the second year running.
The recognition to Intercoil reinforces its various endeavours and initiatives to further the CSR cause and honours its contribution to adopt and lead sustainability practices. Intercoil International was among eight companies which were honoured with the CSR label. Intercoil is the only SME to be conferred with the CSR Label.
Hassan Al-Hazeem, managing director, Intercoil International, received the label from Hisham Al-Shirawi, 2nd vice-chairman of Dubai Chamber. The recognition provides a great platform for public recognition of CSR efforts and contributions by companies across different economic sectors.
Al Hazeem said, “The CSR label enhances our sense of responsibility and commitment to become a role model for other companies, especially SMEs. Therefore, our main challenge and objective after receiving the CSR label last year was to sustain and develop our CSR program and align it with our business strategy.
“Thus, we have incorporated CSR in our business strategy by adding it as a fifth perspective in our balanced scorecard.”
Intercoil’s CSR strategy is derived from its mission statement in essence, yet it centers on an ambitious goal to be proactive in serving the consumer, society, the environment and the nation. This is based on Intercoil’s objective to maintain and develop a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with the members of the wider community. Being a leading manufacturer of orthopedic beds and mattresses, Intercoil is committed to promoting healthy sleep and increasing consumers’ awareness of its importance in contributing to a healthy life. |
