Kilit: Emphasis on wood

AHK group brand launches 2012 collection

The new range from Derin Design is fresh and modern

Derin Design, a family-owned Turkish furniture design company, recently showcased its new collection of modern furniture at an exhibition held at its store in Akaretler, Istanbul’s new art and design district, Turkey. Derin is a group brand of AHK, a leading fit-out contracting company whose co-headquarters are in the UAE and Turkey.

The new range has been developed under the supervision of designers Derin Sarıyer as art director and Aziz Sarıyer as adviser.

“The 2012 designs are fresh and reflect today’s world,” says Haldun Kilit, board chairman of AHK Interiors. The designers of the new collection are Aziz Sarıyer, Arif Özden, Andrew Foxall & Gregers Tang Thomsen, Defne Koz and Derin Sarıyer.

Derin collections’ characteristics are founded on simplicity with well-defined lines, giving a sense of movement that integrates modern and fast urban lifestyles suitable not only for working spaces and hotels, but also home environments.

“There is heavy emphasis on the use of wood in the new range. Among the eye-catching innovations are tables, stands and chairs in warm wooden textures such as walnut, common ash and oak,” he said.

“Derin collection’s strategic philosophy is quite clear. All the products in the collection share the same characteristics and spirit. However, each design can stand on its own. Derin Design places emphasis on developing new designs every year and strives to develop and grow based on the market demands to keep the brand on the forefront of the international scene.”

Having achieved recognition both at national and international levels for many years as a family-held company, Derin recently took a significant step towards converting itself into a joint-stock company with AHK Interiors. Enjoying a deep-seated place in the field of modern furniture design and production on the strength of its global achievements, Derin now gets stronger with production power of AHK Interiors for hotels, hospitals, offices and home projects. Derin aims to reinforce its visionary identity on the strength of this partnership which has come to the scene after 40 years, without making any change in its corporate structure and existing physical structuring.
