Simple and minimalist design for café interior
THE design concept of Public, a new café due to open its doors in Dubai, UAE, next month, aims to give the patrons a homely feeling, according to Thomas Klein International (TKI), the Dubai-based restaurant consultant, and its Chicago architectural office PS Studio.
Paula Palombo, PS Studio principal, said: “We used a very a simple and minimalist design for the interior, using light wood for the counters as well as the furniture, combined with grey slate walls, as well as a light-hued concrete floor, which provides subtle combinations of roughness, smoothness and softness.”
“Armchairs and wall lights with side tables invite patrons for a longer stay, and a magazine wall is designed to allow people to sit and read while looking at those who come and go.”
Located in Lake View Tower 1 in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), Public is owned by Greek investor Theodore Zaravinos.
“Public will cater to the residents and businesses in the JLT community, and will be open for lunch and breakfast,” said Daniel During, principal and managing director of Thomas Klein International.
“The café will serve freshly baked cakes and breads, as well as a selection of healthy salads and sandwiches.” |
