Annual event: Last year’s show attracted visitors from 48 countries

  Inegol to stage regional talent

150 furniture manufacturers to display latest designs

The 28th edition of Modef Expo – furniture and Decoration Fair will take place at Inegol Exhibition Centre, Bursa, Turkey, from October 10 to 14, 2012.

More than 150 furniture manufacturers and decorators will be displaying their latest designs and collections as well as unique sample pieces highlighting both modern and classical influences in what promises to be a fairground atmosphere, according to a spokesperson for IFOR Exhibitions, the organiser of the event.

The exhibition will be set into groups including: modern, classic, antique and modular furniture; dining and beds; armchairs chairs and sofas; rooms for babies and youngsters and furniture accessories.

Inegol region: Leading producer
and exporter in Turkey

Inegol is one of Turkey’s most noted furniture production areas because of its location amidst lush forests which make woodworking and the creation of high-quality furnishings a significant part of the local economy.

The furniture industry in Turkey is very dynamic and worth around $6 billion per year. Around 25 per cent of the production is for the export markets.

The Inegol region makes up 35 per cent of the country’s production and is aiming to reach the $1 billion mark in exports this year.

The region has more than 260 large-scale factories and 1,500 production centers. The current export figures show that around 300 Inegol furniture companies are exporting to over 100 countries worldwide.

“Modef Expo is ideal for companies looking at purchasing wide range of best quality products at lower prices since Inegol-based manufacturers source their raw materials locally, they are able to offer finished products at lower prices.”

Another advantage to buyers is the strategic location of Turkey – linking European countries, Turkic Republics and Middle Eastern countries thus making transportation easier. This also helps the annual show attract visitors from these countries.

Modef Expo 2011 reached out to thousands of key buyers from the targeted visitor markets and attracted 1,765 visitors from 51 countries. The show attracted 15,322 visitors in total.

Visitors to the show include furniture shops, chain stores, wholesalers, distributors, importers, exporters, procurement managers, dealers, architects, interior decorators, industrial designers, contracting companies, furniture accessories manufacturers.

IFOR Fairs expects another successful event this year. The show organiser is also offering free accommodation for two nights to the furniture importers.
